The main implications of error-correcting codes is the reliable digital communication. When a message is sent through a communication system, because of some sort of interference, the message can be received with errors and or erasures. If this occurs, correcting codes are capable of detecting and correcting those possible changes. The purpose of this research is to investigate binary error-correcting codes, in particular Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) codes. Based on classic codes such as Hamming’s and BCH codes, the algorithm of LDPC codes will be investigated.The goal of this research is to analyze and understand how to combine ideas for constructing good codes from classic simple codes. LDPC codes are very powerful error correcting codes, and of much interest for NASA, because of their impact in NASA-deep space communication systems.
